Royal Mint Court Public Realm
London, EC3The Royal Mint Court Public Realm is located within the old Royal Mint Court. The project aims to create a world-class public realm and landscape environment, providing an appropriate legacy for this historic site.
The design utilises the existing classical geometry around the Johnson Smirke centrepiece building, to establish a sense of cohesion through a unifying ring of hard and soft landscaping. Originally designed as a fortress-like establishment with impermeable boundaries, the site will now be opened up to create much needed public space, enlivening the space and forming new pedestrian routes in doing so.
Landscape proposals have been developed in conjunction with Spacehub landscape architects.
