The Johnson Smirke Building, Royal Mint Court
London, EC3The Johnson Smirke Building is a five storey Grade 2* listed building constructed in 1811 and is located on the most prominent position within the historic Royal Mint Court site in Central London.
The goal is to bring the building back to life by a series of restorations and improvements which will unpick much of the work done in the eighties and reinstate its original features.
The proposal, which has been developed closely with Historic England and the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, includes the provision of a mix of high quality A1/A3 retail and B1 office accommodation; the retention, repair and restoration of the existing façades; improvements to the third floor accommodation to enhance daylight levels and ceiling heights; and the creation of a new roof terrace.
